The Court of First Instance (TJB) yesterday sentenced a non-resident worker from the mainland to 15 years in prison for the attempted murder of his colleague in October last year after sexually abusing her in a drinks outlet in Fai Chi Kei where they worked.

The case happened on October 29 last year. The victim felt unwell and went to lie down in the back of the shop in the afternoon. The culprit, a 25-year-old surnamed Lu, saw that the victim was sleeping and tried to rape her. The 19-year-old local victim woke up and resisted, according to the police.

Lu covered the victim’s mouth to stop her screaming and tried to strangle her which caused her to faint. Lu also cut the victim’s neck with a knife and also forced drugs into her mouth. Lu used drugs that are usually used to sedate dogs, according to the police.
