The 12th Congress of the International Association of Lusitanists (AIL) will take place from July 23 and 28 at the Macau Polytechnic Institute (IPM), with the aim of promoting the teaching of the Portuguese language as well as highlighting the important role Macau plays in the promotion of Portuguese-language teaching, according to a press conference yesterday.
The press conference about the congress was held on the IPM campus in Zape. It was addressed by Carlos André, director of IPM’s Portuguese Language Teaching and Research Centre.
According to André, the Congress of the International Association of Lusitanists, founded in France in 1984, is the biggest international organisation for the study of the Portuguese language and culture.
