MGM yesterday hosted its annual “Health Day for Senior Buddies” event in which some 200 senior citizens were given health consultations by medical practitioners and enjoyed a lion dance performed by children.
It’s the eighth consecutive year that MGM has organised the event, the company said in a statement yesterday.
According to the statement, the 200 participants were from five senior citizens’ service centres run by Caritas Macau and one centre run by Macau Tung Sin Tong Charitable Society.
A total of 20 traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) practitioners were invited to provide health consultations as well as Chinese herbal soups for the elderly who attended the event, the statement said.
With the theme of “Creating a Better Tomorrow Today”, MGM has hosted the “Health Day for Senior Buddies” since 2010, which, according to the statement, has benefitted more than 1,400 elderly residents. In addition to on-site TCM consultations, there were also live performances, interactive games, a lucky draw, and refreshments provided to give senior citizens a fun event, the statement said.
The event was held at MGM’s ballroom.
