The sun’s out, and it’s time to get your shades out too. If you’re thinking of getting a new pair of sunglasses, head to local optical retailer Oculista Oriente because the company will donate part of the proceeds from any purchases made to Orbis.

The offer is part of Orbis Macau’s ‘Darkness To Go’ fundraising campaign where the money raised will go to the non-governmental organisation’s sight-saving mission around the world.

It is the first time that Oculista Oriente is taking part in the “Darkness To Go” campaign.

The company says that it wants to support Orbis because it is the most recognised nonprofit organisation it knows, and also because they are both involved in activities related to the eyes.

“As we’re in the optical business, we’re always in contact with people who have different eye problems so we understand the importance of being able to see clearly,” the company said, adding that besides being able to help visually impaired people to see again, taking part in the campaign also helps it establish a good reputation.

Over 60 local businesses are taking part in Orbis’ “Darkness To Go” campaign in an effort to help eliminate the darkness that people who are needlessly blind live in.

The “Darkness To Go” campaign runs until August 20. For more details, please visit www.orbis.org/darknesstogo
