Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On said yesterday he expected the government’s annual expenditure on health care to double after the public hospital complex in Cotai starts operating and a number of public health facility expansion projects have been completed.
Chui made the remarks when answering lawmaker-cum-businessman Tommy Lau Veng Seng’s question in a Q&A session in the legislature’s hemicycle yesterday. Lau asked how the government would promote the development of the city’s health care sector.
Chui attended the session to answer questions from 30 lawmakers in the 33-member legislature. As is customary, the written questions had been submitted in advance.
