The body of a local man was found yesterday in a residential flat in Rua de Francisco Xavier Pereira, according to a statement by the Judiciary Police (PJ).
The statement said the dead man, surnamed Lo, was eighty years old.
According to the PJ statement, Lo’s younger sister went to Lo’s flat yesterday afternoon to visit him. However, nobody answered the door.
Since an awful smell was coming from Lo’s flat, his sister called the Fire Service Bureau (CB) for help, the statement said.
Firemen forced open the door of the flat and found Lo dead in bed. Lo had been dead “for a long time”, the statement said, adding that initial investigations showed that there were no suspicious circumstance surrounding Lo’s death.
