Four Filipinos have been arrested for exchanging fake HK$10,000 gaming chips for genuine ones in a casino in Taipa on Sunday, a Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesperson said yesterday.

According to the spokesperson, one of the suspects, surnamed Obecoza, is 35 years old, while the second suspect, surnamed Nanangan, is aged 33. The spokesperson said the third and fourth suspects are brothers surnamed Nazareno, aged 27 and 29.

The spokesperson said the quartet know each other and are non-resident workers (“blue-card holders”).

The casino reported to the police on Sunday that its staff discovered that Nanangan and Obecoza used bogus chips. After scrutinising CCTV footage, the police officers discovered that three of the suspects had used a total of six chips in the casino on that day.
