The police have arrested 18 mainlanders, a woman and 17 men, for their involvement in a casino loan-sharking gang, a Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesperson said at a special press conference yesterday.
According to the spokesperson, the suspects are aged from 21 to 41, adding the police had recently received a tip-off that a gang was loan-sharking in local casinos.
After investigating, the police discovered that the suspects stayed in a residential flat in Taipa, the spokesperson said. The police officers arrived at the flat early Tuesday morning and found all the suspects in the flat.
