According to data provided by the Economic Services Bureau (DSE) yesterday, the government has granted 487 million patacas to small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) affected by Super Typhoon Hato, Cristina Ho Hoi Leng, deputy convener of the Taipa and Coloane Community Service Consultative Council, said.

The government announced that each affected business could claim up to 50,000-patacas after the killer typhoon hit the city on August 23, killing 10 people, injuring 244 and causing massive damage.

Ho made the remarks during a post-meeting press briefing at the Islands District Public Services Centre in Taipa. She said that out of the 14,536 applications the bureau received for the 50,000-pataca subsidy plan, 11,305 have meanwhile been processed and approved, involving 487 million patacas in subsidies.
