Transport Bureau (DSAT) Deputy Director Chiang Ngoc Vai said yesterday that the proposed mutual driving-licence recognition deal between Macau and the mainland can provide mainland tourists with an alternative way of travelling around Macau.

Chiang made the remarks while speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a plaque-unveiling ceremony that marked the official opening of a new post office at the Taipa Ferry Terminal.

DSAT Director Kelvin Lam Hin San told reporters last month that the local government was planning a mutual driving-licence recognition agreement with the mainland authorities.
