More than 50 delivery drivers went to legislator Zheng Anting’s office yesterday, asking him to give them more information about the vacancy paying 40,000 patacas per month he mentioned last week.
On Thursday, during a Q&A session about the government’s policy guidelines for next year in the Legislative Assembly, Zheng talked about the difficulty of hiring workers in the city.
Trying to explain the difficulty, he said that some employers even offered a monthly salary of 40,000 patacas to hire a delivery driver but still couldn’t find one. The following day, when Zheng was asked by reporters about which sector he was referring to when mentioning the 40,000 pataca job offer, he replied that it was not appropriate to disclose it.
