Secretary for Security Wong Sio Chak said in the legislature’s hemicycle yesterday that police officers will be assigned a number of body-worn cameras to use on a trial basis in the first quarter of next year.
Wong made the remarks when answering a question from appointed lawmaker-cum-businessman Ma Chi Seng, on the last day of a two-day Q&A session about his portfolio’s policy guidelines for next year.
Ma questioned whether the police will buy body cameras for its officers. The cameras are also known as body-worn video (BWV).
