A male suspect from the mainland was arrested on Monday for robbery in a hotel guestroom in Cotai, in which the victim was robbed of HK$128,000, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokeswoman Lei Hon Nei said during a special conference yesterday at the PJ headquarters in Zape.

According to Lei, the suspect is a 28-year-old mainlander surnamed Yong, who claims to be unemployed.

Lei said that on the evening of September 21, Yong pretended that he wanted to exchange yuan for around HK$100,000 when he approached the female victim, who works as a money changer in a Cotai casino. She is also from the mainland.
