The government’s mobile application “Bus Travelling System” will feature five additional functions by the end of this year, the Transport Bureau (DSAT) announced yesterday during a press conference on its premises in Estrada de D. Maria II.
According to Si Tou Wai Meng, a senior official of the bureau’s traffic equipment division, the new functions will let passengers know if the bus is full or not, the estimated time of crossing any of the three Macau-Taipa bridges on their respective routes, the traffic conditions on “class A” roads (roads with the heaviest traffic) and in other areas, showing wheelchair-accessible buses, and stating the last bus of the day on the application.
In order to calculate how many people are on a bus, currently the bureau obtains information on the number of passengers using Macau Pass. However, this method doesn’t include those who pay with cash.
