The government must carry out its long-promised measures in the final two years of the term of Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On if it wants to restore its popularity, Ron Lam U Tou, who heads local think tank Macau Synergy, said earlier this week.

Chui’s second and constitutionally final 5-year consecutive term will end on December 20, 2019.

Lam, a current affairs commentator, made the remarks on Wednesday in an interview with The Macau Post Daily at his group’s office in the city centre.
