Macau’s inflation rate dipped to 1.23 percent last year, down from 2.37 percent in 2016, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) said in a statement yesterday.
The statement said that the composite consumer price index (CPI) in December last year amounted to 111.08, a 2.04 year-on-year increase, pointing out that it was the highest increase last year and the largest growth since July 2016.
According to the statement, the composite CPI in December last year increased 0.51 percent month-to-month.
The bureau noted that last year’s inflation rate was the lowest since 2009 when the rate stood at 1.17 percent.
