A bus was driven into the scooter lane on Sai Van Bridge yesterday morning, causing two scooters behind to crash and with one of the riders sustaining serious injuries.

According to the Public Security Police (PSP), a male scooter rider in his sixties was travelling on Sai Van Bridge from Taipa towards the peninsula at 7 a.m. yesterday. He suddenly saw a Transmac bus in front of him in the motorcycle lane, and hence he slowed down. However, another scooter following, being ridden by a man in his thirties, failed to slow down in time and crashed into the rear of the scooter in front.

The first rider only suffered scratches but the younger rider suffered a head injury, according to the Public Security Police. He was semi-conscious when he was being taken to the public Conde de S. Januario Hospital Centre.
