The police received a report from the Fire Services Bureau (CB) about suspected arson at the construction site of Waterfront Duet, a residential building project in Rua de Fai Chi Kei, according to a statement by the Judiciary Police (PJ) on Saturday.
The statement said that at around 10 a.m. on Saturday, a site supervisor discovered that a number of door frames and plastic piping on the 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd and the 25th floors had been charred. He decided to deal with the damage later that day.
However, at around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, he discovered that a box of accessories for plastic piping was on fire. He then called the police for help and meanwhile extinguished the fire with sand.
