The Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested a local man on Monday for cheating a Taiwanese woman – whom he met during an online video game – out of more than 80,000 patacas after persuading her to lend him money on three occasions by coming up with different excuses, PJ spokesman Ho Chan Nam said during a special press conference yesterday.

Ho identified the suspect as a 35-year-old renovation contractor surnamed Lei. The victim is a 25-year-old.

In June 2016, the victim met Lei during an online video game. They started to chat on a mobile chat application, Ho said.
