352 taxi offences recorded during CNY: police

A total of 352 offences by taxi drivers were recorded between last Wednesday and Wednesday this week, the Public Security Police (PSP) said in a statement yesterday.

According to the statement, 17.9 percent (63 cases) of the 352 cases were about cabbies refusing to pick up passengers, while 71 percent (250 cases) concerned overcharging, during the eight-day period between the day before Chinese New Year’s Eve to the sixth day of the Chinese New Year.

According to the statement, the 352 cases saw a 14 percent increase compared to the corresponding period of the lunar new year last year.
