Driver-related bus accidents rise 31 pct: transport chief

The Transport Bureau (DSAT) recorded in the first two months 88 bus accidents for which the bus driver or their company was responsible, compared to 67 in the same period last year, the bureau’s director Kelvin Lam Hin San said yesterday, a year-on-year increase of 31 percent.

Lam spoke to reporters after a meeting of the Traffic Consultative Council at the bureau.

According to Lam, the total number of bus accidents slightly increased from the 142 recorded in January and February last year to 144 in the same period of this year.
