Six local journalists arrived on the Indonesian island province of Bali last night on a familiarisation trip organised by the Consulate-General of the Republic of Indonesia to Hong Kong and Macau on behalf of the Tourism Ministry in Jakarta, in a bid to attract more tourists from the two special administrative regions to the island nation.

The six local media professionals – representing The Macau Post Daily, Macau Cable TV, TDM’s Chinese-language TV channel and Portuguese-language newspaper Jornal Tribuna de Macau, as well as local Indonesian radio talk show Kumbang Toh! – were joined by four Hong Kong reporters and two consular officials.

The familiarisation trip, the first ever organised by the consulate for local media, aims to promote Bali and Labuan Bajo, the starting point to the country’s Komodo dragon national park, Consul-General Tri Tharyat pointed out last week during a briefing on the upcoming trip at his consulate’s Macau representative office in Luso International Bank Building.
