The Judiciary Police (PJ) suspect that a fire in a residential unit in Areia Preta yesterday morning was caused by a boy playing with a lighter, according to a PJ statement yesterday.
According to the statement, a woman in the flat had one of her hands burnt in the fire in Mei Lin Building in Avenida Leste do Hipódromo. The four-year-old boy was not injured.
According to the statement, the Fire Services Bureau (CB) received a report at around 9:30 a.m. yesterday that a fire had broken out in the flat. Firefighters rushed to the home where items in a bedroom were burning and quickly extinguished the blaze.
