The Macau Customs Service said in a statement on Saturday that its officers busted three illegal immigration cases on Friday and Saturday.
According to the statement, the Customs Service over the two days caught 14 illegal immigrants and suspected snakeheads, comprising nine mainlanders and five Vietnamese, aged from 16 to 45.
Referring to the first case, the statement said that at around 2 a.m. on Friday, customs officers on patrol spotted a suspicious motorised sampan near the land reclamation area known as Zone E2, which lies off the northern coast of Taipa. Officers caught six men and a woman, all from the mainland. The statement noted that four of them were “snakeheads”.
