Ten top chefs from three provinces in the north-east have created a series of dishes for Galaxy Macau, offering locals and tourists some authentic flavours from the north-east from now until June 30.
Some of the north-eastern dishes are available at the all-day dining outlet Festiva, where certain buffet counters decorated with red floral banners are the ones serving Dongbei (north-east) food, such as at the grill station, guests will find grilled deer meat skewer and lamb skewer with onion, and at the other stations, guests will find steamed Dalian wild abalones, and braised sea cucumber with spring onion and millet rice.
Other typical Dongbei-style food at Festiva are “Di San Xian” (literally “Three Delights from Earth”) which is a stir-fry of potatoes, peppers and aubergines with garlic and a vinegary sweet brown sauce, “Dongbei Da La pi” (literally “north-east big pulled skin”) which is really a bowl of cold glass noodles mixed with vegetables and peanut sauce, and pork with sour cabbage, with is very similar to sauerkraut, and of course, dumplings, a staple in the north-east.
