A male cat burglar from the mainland was arrested on Tuesday for breaking into a lower-floor flat in Taipa last month, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Choi Ian Fai said during a special press conference at the PJ headquarters in Zape yesterday.

Choi identified the suspect as a 30-year-old surnamed Wei, who claimed to be unemployed.

The flat is on the fifth floor of a residential building in Rua Cidade de Lisboa, according to Choi. On April 18 the family left home and only returned in the early morning of the following day. When they entered the flat, they realised that it had been broken into, so they reported the case to the police.
