Executive Council spokesman Leong Heng Teng announced yesterday that the council, the government’s top advisory body, has completed its discussion of a government-drafted by-law on the so-called Temporary Measure of Income Subsidy.
The by-law is to renew the subsidy for low-income residents. The subsidy was first implemented in 2008 and has been renewed annually since then.
The subsidy is to provide financial assistance to local permanent residents aged at least 40 and with a monthly income of less than 5,000 patacas.
