The Judiciary Police (PJ) have recorded two suicide cases, and found two other dead bodies on Saturday and yesterday, involving two mainlanders, a Taiwanese, and a South Korean, according to four PJ statements.
The first case happened in a resort hotel in Cotai. According to the statement, the deceased is a 55-year-old Taiwanese man surnamed Chang. At noon on Saturday, a hotel cleaner entered Chang’s room and found him hanging with a belt in the bathroom. The hotel’s security department then reported the case to the police. Paramedics of the Fire Services Bureau (CB) rushed to the scene and a doctor confirmed that the man was dead at the scene. A suicide note was found in the room, and the police believe he took his life after losing money on the gaming tables.
In the second case, a 39-year-old mainland woman surnamed Xi was found dead in a hotel in Rua de Pequim. The statement said that at around 2 p.m. on Saturday hotel staff members realised that Xi hadn’t checked out. They went to Xi’s guestroom and knocked on the door, but got no response. When they later entered the room, they saw that Xi was lying on the ground in a pool of blood. They also found a blade that had been removed from a shaving razor on the bedside cabinet.
