A male body was found floating yesterday evening in the sea near the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal, according to a statement by the Judiciary Police (PJ) yesterday.
The statement said that the Customs Service received a report from a ferry passenger at around 6 p.m., who had seen the body floating off shore at the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal. Later Customs Service officers arrived to pull the corpse out of the water.
According to the statement, the deceased was a 31-year-old local man surnamed Wong, who had no suspicious injuries. A mobile phone and a wallet including some money and an ID were found on the deceased. However, no suicide note was discovered.
In March the Customs Service received a report that there was a body floating near Fisherman’s Wharf. Officers pulled the person out of the water who showed no signs of life. The deceased was estimated to have been in his sixties whose identity couldn’t be confirmed at that time.
On February 14, a female corpse was found floating in the Inner Harbour near the bus terminal in Barra. The deceased was estimated to have been in her 50s or 60s at that time while no identification documents were found on the body.
