Philippines marks 120th Independence Day

The Philippine Consulate General in Macau hosted a celebration to mark the 120th anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence, at Clube Militar yesterday.

The celebration was themed “Independence 2018: Change We Fought For, An Offering to An Abundant Future.”

Addressing guests at the event, Consul General Lilybeth Deapera said, “It has been 120 years since the Philippines regained independence and forged its own path towards democracy…I am confident that the Filipino people, no matter where they are in the world, and in whatever occupation they hold, we will continue to be brilliant, unified, and united in creating a better and safer world for our future generations.”
