A local man fell victim to a credit-for-sex scam at the weekend, losing a total of 30,120 patacas, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokeswoman Lei Hon Nei said during a regular press conference at the PJ headquarters in Zape yesterday.
According to Lei, the victim, whose surname was not revealed, is in his thirties.
Lei said that last Friday the victim befriended someone who claimed to be a young woman online. She also claimed to be a local university student. She later told the victim through a social messaging application that she was offering sex services for between 1,000 patacas and 2,000 patacas each time. The victim later gave her his phone number.
