The Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM) said in March that the expansion of its Taipa Municipal Market was set to be completed by the end of this year or early next year, but there’s still nothing going on there, Taipa and Coloane Community Service Consultative Council member Jiang Xuchun said yesterday.

Jiang made the remarks during a monthly meeting of the council at the Islands District Public Services Centre in Taipa.

During a meeting with Taipa and Coloane residents in March, IACM Administration Committee member Mak Kim Meng said that his bureau was waiting for a reply from the public works authority before carrying out the expansion of the Taipa Municipal Market, adding that the bureau would start the project soon after getting the official approval. He said that his bureau would start the expansion work including installing lifts, tactile paving and disabled toilets, once it got the green light from the public works authority.
