A male mainlander was arrested on Tuesday for using fake yuan banknotes at least twice, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Lai Man Vai said during a special press conference at the PJ headquarters yesterday.

According to Lai, the suspect is a 42-year-old surnamed Wu, who claimed to be unemployed.

Lai said that the Judiciary Police received two reports from two male gamblers, on May 25 and early this week respectively, about having been scammed with fake yuan.
