A taxi driver is being investigated for allegedly keeping a smartphone a passenger left in his cab, Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Lam Keong said during a regular press conference in Zape yesterday.

Lam identified the suspect as a local man surnamed Liu in his 30s while the victim is a woman from the mainland, whose personal information was not released.

According to Lam, on Saturday morning the woman got into Liu’s taxi in Avenida Comercial de Macau in Nam Van and asked to be taken to a hotel in Rua de Xangai in Zape. After getting out of the taxi, the victim realised that she had left her smartphone in the cab. She called the police to report what had happened.
