The Red Market Library whose facilities were severely damaged by floodwaters during the Super Typhoon Hato onslaught will reopen next Wednesday, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) said in a statement yesterday.
The library is located in Avenida Ouvidor Arriaga, near the Almirante Lacerda Municipal Market (also known as the “Red Market”).
The statement said that the equipment and fixtures in the library, including its air-conditioning system, book cases and other library furniture, were severely damaged in the Hato-induced floods, adding that thousands of books were destroyed.
