A 44-year-old man was injured in a fire at his flat in Rua de Kun Iam Tong yesterday afternoon, according to a spokesman for the Fire Services Bureau (CB).
According to the spokesman, the bureau received a report at about at 4:20 p.m. that a flat on the ground floor of Block II of Iau Hei Building was on fire. After arriving at the scene, the bureau’s firefighters rescued the man, who sustained minor injuries, and extinguished the flames.
The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The firefighters concluded that the fire was caused by a short circuit in an electrical appliance in the flat. A bed, an air-conditioner and various other items and fixtures were also damaged in the blaze.
