Attention foodies! Japanese snack maker Calbee opened its first local outlet at the Venetian’s Okashi Galleria snack shop, loaded with sweet and savoury snacks, limited edition items, as well as a counter serving ice-cream and freshly fried potatoes from Hokkaido.

Being the first shop in Macau, it is stocked with Macau versions of some of their snacks, such as Portuguese egg tart-flavoured egg waffle biscuits.

Egg waffles are one of the traditional street foods in Macau that are still hugely popular, which convinced street snack stalls and even cafés to create novelty-favoured egg waffles such as coriander, or stuffed with melted cheese.

Poterico and potato hokkori (left), egg waffle biscuits in Portuguese egg tart flavour, and the hot and spicy flavoured potato sticks (right) are displayed at the Okashi Galleria x Calbee+ shop in Venetian last week.
