The Judiciary Police (PJ) have arrested a male mainlander over a property investment scam and a fund investment scam, involving at least five million patacas, PJ spokeswoman Lei Hon Nei said during a regular press conference at the PJ headquarters in Zape yesterday.
According to Lei, the suspect is a 37-year-old surnamed Wen, who works as a driver.
Lei said that in May 2014, a local man who was one of the victims, attended a property investment seminar held by an “investment company” at a hotel in the city centre, and afterwards decided to purchase two uncompleted residential flats in Cambodia, paying a down payment of about HK$380,000.
