The Health Bureau (SSM) said in a statement last night that it has recorded the fifth imported case of dengue fever this year.
According to the statement, the patient is a 48-year-old local man who lives in Kam Hoi San Building in Avenida 1º de Maio and works in a hotel’s engineering department in Avenida Dr. Sun Yat-Sen.
The patient visited Phuket with his wife between July 27 and August 1. On his return he came down with a fever, muscle and joint pains so he went to the public Conde de S. Januário Hospital Centre for treatment last Saturday, the statement said.
