According to a statement by the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) released through the Macau Government Information Bureau (GCS), the local PLA garrison early yesterday morning completed its 19th troop rotation.
The statement pointed out that the rotation was carried out in accordance with the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Garrisoning the Macau Special Administrative Region and by order of the Central Military Commission (CMC) in Beijing.
According to the statement, the rotation involved a convoy of military vehicles which departed from the Macau Garrison barracks in Zhuhai and entered Macau through the Lotus Flower Bridge checkpoint. The statement said that the total number of military personnel and equipment remained the same as before. However, it did not reveal the number.
