The Creative Macau gallery in Nape is showcasing the works of 22 students from the Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) until October 26 for an exhibition entitled “Time Pixels”, showcasing creativity through different mediums.
The artworks were created by 22 year-four students who are mainly from the public university’s Visual Arts Programme.
A recent statement on Creative Macau’s website notes that the students completed the works during the “Social Artistic Practice” and “Sociology of Art” modules this year, for which the theme “Family Chronicles” was adopted in early 2024 for teaching and the creation of works.
The statement added that the modules aim to guide students in applying their “artistic abilities”. Expanding on the theme, the statement noted that students were guided to investigate their family histories, construct and integrate connections between themselves, their family history and the changes in civil society.
They then needed to display their “thinking and artistic practice” through paintings, sculptures, photography or text, according to the statement. Those visiting the exhibition will be able to find works created using different mediums from photography to watercolours to even comprehensive and mixed media.
The free-admission gallery, which is located on the ground floor of the Macau Cultural Centre (CCM) is open from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. from Mondays to Saturdays and is closed on public holidays.
