Guest speakers at yesterday’s Macau Forum were starkly divided over the government’s proposed construction of a water storage tank under the plot where the former greyhound racetrack is located.
A guest speaker at yesterday’s programme said that the area earmarked for education facilities on the plot – proposed by the government last week – was insufficient for the construction of four schools as previously proposed by the government.
The weekly debate programme is hosted by government-owned broadcaster TDM every Sunday. After the forum was held indoors in the broadcaster’s studio at the Macau Forum in Zape in July and last month due to the hot weather and “unstable” weather conditions during the summer, it returned to its normal open-air venue in Areia Preta Park yesterday.
