Guest speakers at yesterday’s Macau Forum agreed with the government’s latest proposal to require a video recorder to be installed in every taxi in the future.

The weekly debate programme is hosted by government-owned broadcaster TDM in its studio at the Macau Forum in Zape every Sunday. The programme has been held indoors regularly since the beginning of this year after mostly taking place in Areia Preta Park for years.

Secretary for Transport and Public Works Raimundo do Rosario told reporters earlier this month the government now proposes to add a new rule to its taxi sector bill – which is currently under review by a standing committee of the legislature – according to which a video recorder will have to be installed in every taxi.
