The building company which has been granted the contract for the demolition and reconstruction of the ill-fated Sin Fong Garden residential high-rise says the whole project is expected to take two and a half years, one year of which will be for the demolition.
Lo Chi Cheong, a representative of the local Tat Cheong Engineering and Construction Co. Ltd. made the announcement during a press conference at The Plaza Restaurant in Zape last week.
During Friday’s press conference, Wong Man Sang, the chairman of the Sin Fong Garden condominium owners’ management committee, said that the Lands, Public Works and Transport Bureau (DSSOPT) issued Tat Cheong with a permit for the demolition of the building on August 24.
