The owners of Beijing Imperial Palace Hotel in Taipa, which has been mothballed since 2016, have cancelled their application to redevelop the property, as indicated by the websites of the Lands, Public Works and Transport Bureau (DSSOPT) and the government-appointed Urban Planning Council (CPU).

The proposed legal development conditions for the plot on which the hotel is situated were uploaded to the bureau’s website on July 3 for residents to submit opinions and suggestions until last Thursday, after which the legal development conditions were initially slated to be discussed in a regular meeting of the Urban Planning Council today.

However, the legal development conditions for the plot are not on the agenda for today’s meeting, as shown on the council’s website. Also, the bureau’s website shows that the application for the legal development conditions for the plot has been cancelled – indicating that the owners of the hotel have cancelled their application to redevelop the hotel.
