The Judiciary Police (PJ) are aware of an alleged incident circulating online about a fake policeman entering a flat to carry out an “investigation”, PJ spokesman Lai Man Vai said during a regular press conference yesterday.
According to Lai, the post claims that a bogus cop entered a resident’s flat to investigate the case of an object thrown from a height. However, the “officer” couldn’t show the resident his police badge. The “officer” claimed that the victim would be charged if he or she didn’t “cooperate with the authorities”. The “officer” then robbed the victim after entering the flat, according to the post.
Lai did not say where the residential building is located or when the incident is supposed to have occurred. Neither did he say where the post was uploaded.
