A man who suffered from multiple bone fractures in a work accident on Sunday passed away at the public Conde de Sao Januario Hospital yesterday morning, the Judiciary Police (PJ) said in a statement yesterday.
According to the statement, the deceased was a male non-resident worker in his twenties employed at a construction site in Rua dos Pescadores.
The statement said that the worker was installing electric cables on the top floor of the site on Sunday morning, and a crane was lifting cables to the work area. Suddenly, the crane dropped the cables which landed on the victim. He was transferred to the public hospital for emergency treatment and was pronounced yesterday morning.
The case has been listed as a fatal work accident and is under investigation.
