Secretary for Administration and Justice Sónia Chan Hoi Fan said yesterday that the government would start an evaluation process for the noise and hygiene once some of the 530 greyhounds move into an “adoption centre” controversially set up just a few metres away from a retirement home in Coloane.

Chan made the remarks after attending a welcome reception in honour of Foreign Ministry Commissioner Shen Beili at Macau Tower.

Chan told reporters that the government would evaluate the noise, environment and hygiene that could affect the elderly living at the private Asilo Vila Madalena retirement home.
