A ceremony for the reconstruction of the ill-fated Sin Fong Garden residential building to get off the ground finally took place yesterday.
The “Sin Fong Garden Reconstruction Project Commencement Ceremony” was held at the rear of the mothballed high-rise in Patane district.
Speaking to reporters after yesterday’s ceremony, Wong Man Sang, the chairman of the Sin Fong Garden condominium owners’ management committee, said that Sin Fong’s reconstruction was expected to take two and a half years, including the demolition slated to take a year. Wong said that the budget for the reconstruction was about 220 million patacas.
