Members of the audience at yesterday’s Macau Forum said that they doubted whether the government would be able to implement the various goals to be stipulated in its future urban master plan.
The weekly open-air debate is hosted by government-owned broadcaster TDM in Areia Preta Park every Sunday.
The government announced last Wednesday that it had decided to draft the urban master plan of the Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR), based on the government’s strategic plan to develop the city into a world tourism and leisure centre and a “beautiful home”. The announcement, published in the Official Gazette (BO) last Wednesday, was issued in the form of an executive order signed by Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On.
